James B. Duke Memorial Library – Reservable Spaces

The James B. Duke Memorial Library provides a variety of reservable spaces to support study, collaboration, and community engagement.

Types of Spaces Available:

  • Study Rooms – Quiet individual and group study rooms available to current students and university employees.

  • Design, Editing, and Production – Technology-enabled creative spaces that support media production, digital design, editing, content development, and product creation.

  • Makerspace – A community-driven environment for hands-on, project-based activities where users can design, build, experiment, and innovate.

  • Classrooms & Meeting Rooms – Flexible, multipurpose spaces designed for collaborative work, presentations, and educational gatherings.

  • Presentation & Event Spaces – Larger venues equipped to host meetings, workshops, and community programs.

Features & Amenities:

  • Smart screens with videoconferencing for hybrid meetings
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • Power outlets
  • Whiteboards and mobile whiteboards
  • Fabrication and media creation tools and equipment

Reservation Information:

  • Some spaces are bookable directly through LibCal.
  • Other spaces such as classrooms, meeting rooms, and Presentation spaces are managed through 25Live.
